Hi, I'm Maartje — and I've been planning adventures my whole life.
Travel has always been the thread running through my life. I started exploring the world with my husband, and when our children came along, they joined the journey too. Over the years, we've visited more than 50 countries together — and somewhere along the way, I realised that the planning was never just a necessary step for me. It was part of the joy.
I launched Kids Go Travel in 2023 to show families that adventure doesn't stop when you have children — it just takes a different shape. What started as a personal platform grew into a community of over 25,000 families who share the same belief: that the world is meant to be explored together, at every age and every stage.Then, in the summer of 2025, we took a journey that changed something in me. Sri Lanka and the Maldives — tea-covered highlands, ancient temples, jungle train rides, and islands so beautiful they almost don't feel real. It was one of the most extraordinary trips we've ever made. And when I started planning it, I discovered a gap I hadn't expected: there was no single, reliable place to find everything you needed to know about these two destinations.
Everything was scattered. Nothing was complete. So I built what I couldn't find.
